Fun With Facebook

Since December 2021 World News Center dot Org has been listed as a spam site. Sometimes. Maybe kind of sort of. Other times, not so much.

Over the last four weeks, however, it has happened every day. Today, proof that God has a sense of humor, Facebook posted links for me to buy ads to promote my site, which they won’t accept due to its spam listing.

This is where it gets fun.

My many attempted emails to their tech and customer support, as well as random others, have gotten me nowhere. But, me notifying them I wasn’t going to give them my money for ads I can’t post? That got me a call from a nice man named Ian, guaranteed a manual review of the site plus all related posts, and a promise that this should be rectified soon.

If they do fix this, I’ll give them the $20 just as a thank you.

For the record, World News Center went live in October of 2010. One week later I began appearances on The Big Wakeup Call, hosted by Ryan Gatenby. As you’ll note, if you click the Big Wakeup Call link, the show has evolved from a little weekly radio show on WBIG-1280 AM into an international podcast.

That’s a good thing.

But, were I to try and promote it, it would be tied to a spam account by Facebook and, their idiot progeny, Instagram. Something that could harm Ryan and all the hard work he’s put in.

That’s not biting the hand that feeds you, that’s shitting on their dinner table during a holiday function. I prefer not to do that.

I guess there’s nothing left to do on this end but see how it all plays out.
