Both my desk and inbox are flooded with new music every week, and I can never just keep it to myself (fair warning if you ever consider trusting me with a secret!)..
These guys first caught my attention with what I think is a hilarious band name, Hollerado.
They come from rural Ontario with the members growing up together on the same street, and by now they’re making a noteworthy mark on the Canadian indie scene.
If you’re a fan of bands like Weezer, Sloan (the latter being one of my favorite bands ever), or the quirkiness of Pavement..you might dig these guys.
Here’s two tracks from their new debut album entitled ‘Record In A Bag’ on Royal Mountain Records…and below is the absolutely brilliant video for the lead single “Americanarama”, as well as a second version of the video that features comedian and fellow Canadian Dave Foley (Kids In The Hall).

You can check Hollerado out for yourself as they have a Chicago gig coming up at Lincoln Hall on the 19th, opening up for Free Energy, the emerging Philadelphia indie group (featuring core members of the defuct Hockey Night).
