Ain’t Technology Wunnerful?

Sex bots. And they all look just like the designer's mom.

As I mentioned yesterday, tomorrow night is the "really big shoe" celebrating Nude Hippo's 15th anniversary. You can check it out at 9 pm on the NBC Chicago Nonstop channel (Comcast 341, RCN 50, WOW! 130 and DTV 5.2). There's already a fun trailer on line, featuring the lovely Amy Zanglin, at Nude Hippo dot com. Some people who won't be watching are the nice people who claim that Earth is being invaded by Dorito shaped UFOs. Most of hem are stunned that objects, which look exactly like military grade flying wing aircraft, can move so slow and be so big. They are amazed because they are too stupid to understand the meaning of the word … [Read more...]

The Responsible Ones

idiot-picture

This Saturday night all right thinking Americans will be glued to Nude Hippo dot com or, if you live somewhere there is no internet, to NBC 5.2 (check your local listings). You see, this week marks the 15th Anniversary of Nude Hippo. 15 years of responsible adults doing things that are, for the most part, wildly irresponsible. I, for example, was tattooed by a stranger while being interviewed by a former hockey cheerleader and videotaped by a guy who claims to be either a simple citizen or member of an Eastern European crime syndicate (it depends on which day you catch him). . And not just any tattoo, I have the company logo forever on my … [Read more...]

The Chicago Air & Water Show, from NEW Heights!

Brochure

Have you considered joining the millions this year to watch the annual Chicago Air & Water Show....but then the idea of fighting crowds and the August heat changes your mind? Well, I have a few options for you to try instead. I scouted out several different locations during the Air & Water Show, and discovered that you don't have to be stuck in a huge crowd to enjoy the festivities. First, I stopped by the main viewing location, North Avenue Beach, where millions come to watch the show. There is grandstand seating available at this location, otherwise you can make a "camp" in the sand. The best areas on the beach, however, are … [Read more...]

Cirque Shanghai Extreme… IS Extremely Amazing!

Barrel Contortionist

Cirque Shanghai is back this summer, but it's even more EXTREME than you might remember. If you haven't seen the show at the Navy Pier, than it's a 'must see' this summer. It's a perfect thing to take a date-- or the entire family! You'll laugh, you'll gasp, you'll be so amazed that you'll clap uncontrollably and lean over to whoever you came with and say something like, "HOW did they do that?!?!?" I watched these performers maneuver themselves in and out of barrels like it was no tough task. This act consisted of 3 young girls dressed in striped outfits who could clearly contort their body in any position necessary. Personally, I have … [Read more...]

Broadway In Chicago's Peter Pan

What's that flying through the air above Kensington Gardens?  A bird?  A giant balloon Snoopy, come to rule over us all?  Oh wait, it's a group of kids, a boy who refuses to grow up, and a fairy. Of course.  After all, this is Broadway in Chicago's Peter Pan. The story will be familiar to those who were introduced by the 1950's Disney movie or, in a roundabout way, by the movie Hook. Unlike those versions, this features: 1.  People flying!  The actors were very securely attached to cables, which permitted them to soar across the stage and to ascend to the top of the tent.  When I say "very securely attached" I mean that I … [Read more...]

Tim Weigel, Nick Rosario & Tony Lossano

Tim Weigel, the popular & talented sports anchor/reporter, covered Chicago sports for over 25 years.  Last week was the ten year anniversary of his death after a yearlong battle against brain cancer. In 1998, Tim took 23 minutes out of his busy schedule to sit down for a 3-part interview.  It was a busy night for him, because he was still writing that night's 10 PM broadcast and the Bear game was at the end of the 3rd quarter.  I, along with several members from NUDE HIPPO had the opportunity to sit down with Tim.  We tossed him tough questions about his favorite Red Blazer, his toughest interview with Albert Bell, his fondness … [Read more...]

Healthier Friedless Chicken

Once coated, stare at the chicken for about 30 seconds, but do not eat just yet!

The taste of fried chicken is the best, but the calories and the fat grams are not worth it...or is it?  Regardless if the Colonel has removed the word "fried" from his tasty buckets of chicken, that stuff is not any healthier.   So here's a healthier idea, and it's cheap too.  Make a healthier friedless chicken using just a few ingredients. Click on the photos to enlarge! You'll need the following: 2 skinless-boneless chicken breasts 2 cups plain non-fat yogurt 1 cup of crushed cornflakes cereal Add Spice if desired Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F Dip each chicken breasts in yogurt, until completely coated.
